Default I Miss Cold Squad

Hi There,

I was just looking at CTV and they're showing Cold Case right now and I was thinking man, I would so much rather be watching Cold Squad.

I don't know what the status is of this show if it's cancelled, semi-cancelled or what. Maybe someone has an answer?

Anyways, I think I saw the first episode of Cold Squad years ago, and I wasn't particularly impressed, but the last couple seasons I've been watching, and I've been really enjoying the program.

I like a number of things about the show. The stories, the acting, the realistic look of the show, and also that it's set in Canada. It's nice to see a show that isn't just shot in Canada, but is set in Canada.

I also like the casting of the two leads, I think they both manage to give they're characters an understated on screen presence, which for whatever reason seems some what Canadian to me.

Anyways, that's all, I was enjoying the program. Anyone else like the program? Anyone disagree with me?

MJames

I caught it from time to time & liked it. I do think it may be cancelled.
I always thought it was strange that CTV had Cold Squad & Cold Case on the schedule at the same time. I mean isn't Cold Case a Cold Squad clone?

Default cold squad

Whew, quite an ordeal logging in, registering......I finally found out that there is no more Cold Squad . A shame. It was a quality program. Any reason that it was cancelled?
I am not on the up and up of what goes on in TV television. I am left slightly perplexed.

The show ran for 7 season, pretty good since many Canadain dramas can't get past 2 season on CTV.

We have to live with it in Re-runs on Showcase (Wed. 8pm). That is where I got into the show. A few years back it was on 8pm weeknights and I got into it cathcing a few eps here and there. The season with the Amblemton case was so gripping. A case that got built over many episodes with one twist after another.

Anyone know if this show is out on DVD yet? The 11th hour was another great show CTV has missed judged. Saturday nigths at 10pm great timselot!

I doubt anyone will read this, but...really, when I think back on cold squad, i'm always reminded how different it is form other crime dramas, especially american police shows. Rather then focus on heat of the moment hot cases, the shows seemed to bring a lot more focus to the characters, more then other shows usually do. unlike csi where only a few eps every so often have personal stories, Cold squad always had something personal going with the characters. I only saw seasons 5 and 6 (i think...those are the ones the play on showcase, right) and a bit of this final season. I think season 5 is my fav. I loved the whole issue with Mickey collander and the lawyer (baaaaad choice on the affair mickey) and who killed the guys wife (by the way...did they ever catch the person who did it) Aand i was devasted when they killed off Niko( :eek and speaking of which...those scenes were so confusing, I still don't know if the cop accidently shot niko or whether the biker knifed him...can somebody help me there? I really think our tv networks need another emotionally charged drama like cold squad...cold case is good with their really neat flash backs, and hell, i even like lily rush and that dude jeremy ratchford (think blue murder) plays, but they don't come close to cold squads, emotional fury and passion (woohoo Ali, 2 points for nailing the russian cop twice!!!! ) and of course no one can conquere Coscerella's coldness or harper's stupidity (I...uh was driving her home because she was drunk, Andy-someone shoulda told him that wasn't a good excuse...though Pawlachuck actually believed it) but besides coscerella, i think Collander was still my fav..great acting bad affair (don't screw a married lawyer!!!) anywho i will stop babbling and hope someone finds this and replies to my how did niko really die question.
